Dear Gene, Donna, Bryan and family, Growing up next door, I have many fond childhood memories of Mary. She was my Cub Scout den mother teaching me honesty and fortitude-that if things don't workout at first, keep trying and success will follow. When my mother was ill or in the hospital, Mary would invite my sister Carol and I over for dinner. The meals and dessert we had were delicious but what we cherished most was being warmly consoled by Mary that our mother was going to be fine. We always felt a lot better and fuller too when we went home after dinner. When I moved back to the neighborhood as an adult- Gene and Mary were the first to welcome me and help me set up my new home. Gene taught me home repair skills and Mary made me beautiful curtains which I still have and cherish to this day. I knew nothing of lawn care and gardening but through the years Mary taught me a lot. I believe my love of gardening today was fostered by Mary. I was honored to be included in Mary's 91st birthday celebration - not many people get to experience such a milestone in life. With the passing of my own mother, words can not express my sorrow for your family and your loss. I will always remember Mary being out in her flower garden with her bright smile, infectious laughter and truly warm heart. She will be missed.

Dear Bryan and family, When we met Mary at various family outings she impressed us with her cheery smile. A smile that spoke from her heart. Having read what you wrote about her life we also know she was an amazing wife, mom and grandma and a person who graced her community with her love. We only wish we got to know her better. Love, Rob and Susan
