Obituary of Patricia Simmons

Patricia M. Simmons, 76, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. A lifelong resident, she was born in Poughkeepsie on March 2, 1940 to the late William and Helen O'Hara. She had attended St. Mary's School and was a member of Holy Trinity Church. Patricia had worked in food service for Vassar College. She enjoyed Bingo, playing the lottery and making trips to the casinos. She also enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Patricia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Shawn and Danielle Simmons and their children Corey and Cierra Simmons, all of Poughkeepsie. Also surviving is her sister Vera Harris of Georgia, her brother Bob O'Hara of Colorado and many nieces, nephews and friends. Patricia was predeceased by her siblings Bill O'Hara, Alvin O'Hara, Helen O'Hara, MaryAnn O'Hara, Theresa Bacon, Betty Decheck and Deloris Wynant, as well as her dog Buddy. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
