Obituary of Joan Cassidy

Joan Cassidy, 82, a lifelong area resident, died on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Selma Lawson, born on November 9, 1933 in Ossining, NY. Joan was a graduate of Ossining High School in 1951. She then went on to pursue a career in Nursing. She graduated from Methodist Hospital Nursing School in Brooklyn, NY in 1954. She continued as a pediatric nurse at Methodist Hospital and then White Plains Hospital. On October 5, 1957 she married Frank Cassidy. She is survived by her husband and three children; Peter, Laura, Debra, son-in-law Vincent Polletta and her two grandchildren, Matthew and Christopher. In keeping with her wishes, there are no calling hours; cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the United Methodist Church of Poughkeepsie, 2381 New Hackensack Road, Poughkeepsie, NY. Donations can be made in her name to the Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church or Hudson Valley Hospice. Services are under the direction of the Timothy P.
