Obituary of Vera A. Lillis

Vera A. Lillis, age 64, of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center of Poughkeepsie, NY. Vera was born August 6, 1952 in Poughquag, NY. She is the daughter of the late John Joseph and the late Anna Elizabeth (Swanson) Ryff. She married William Lillis on August 3, 1974 in Rhinebeck, New York, William Predeceased her. Vera worked at Vassar Brothers Medical Center as a LPN. She was a local resident all of her life. A graduate of Arlington High School and the LPN program at Dutchess BOCES. Vera loved the beach, to read, travel, go hiking. She is survived by son and daughter in-law Keith And Megan Lillis of Columbia, SC; daughter Barbara Lillis of Milton, NY., son Justin Lillis of Poughkeepsie, NY. daughter: Kimberly Wilson of Poughkeepsie, NY., her seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Chase and Morgan Janulewicz, Rachel, Lauren and Cole Lillis and Kylie Wilson. Vera is also survived by her sister Ellen Ryff of Acorth, GA. Calling hours will be Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 2pm to 5pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be held 10:30 am on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY.
