Obituary of Ellen M. Kishbaugh
Ellen M. Kishbaugh, age 66, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., died Monday, January 30, 2017, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Ellen was born December 3, 1950, in Albany, N.Y. to Hugh F. Walsh and Marian (Duncovich) Walsh.
Ellen attended Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie and John F. Kennedy High School in Somers, N.Y.
She graduated with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Good Counsel College in White Plains, N.Y.After raising her children, Ellen went back to school and earned her master's degree in special education/instructional technology from Walden University. Ellen retired from Putnam ARC in 2015 as a Service Coordinator. Ellen was a member of the Evergreen Chorus, enjoyed her annual anniversary cruise, and always looked forward to spending time with her friends and family.
Ellen is survived by her husband, James Kishbaugh of Poughkeepsie, her sons and their spouses, David and Lisa Gedris of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mark and DoriAnn Gedris of Bristow, Va., James and Lauren Gedris of Hawthorne, N.Y., her daughter Karen Gedris of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., and her step-children, Jamie and Rosa Kishbaugh of Helendale, Ca. and Kim and Ray Reinmann of Dorena, Ore.
She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses; Dave and Stephanie Walsh, Peggy Walsh, Beth and Rich Thorn, and her nephews and nieces; Christopher and Monica Gedris, Brian and Kerri Walsh, Jillian Walsh and Katie Thorn.
One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren, Lily, Avery, Rowan and Jack Gedris, and Adrianna Kishbaugh. Her family was her heart and soul.
Calling hours will be Thursday, February 2, 2017, from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave. in Poughkeepsie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:15 pm on Friday, February 3, 2017, at St. Martin de Porres Church, Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Special Olympics – Hudson Valley.
