Obituary of Joseph J. Moran

Joseph J. Moran, Sr., age 86, of Poughkeepsie, died Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center of Poughkeepsie, NY. Joe was born December 10, 1930 in Valhalla, NY. He is the son of the late James and the late Geraldine Moran. He married Joyce J. Grey. she was predeceased him on December 7, 1999. Joe served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed by IBM Poughkeepsie where he worked as a Manager retiring in 1990 Joe was a local resident all of his life, he was a member of the Fairview Men's Club. He enjoyed swimming and playing basketball at the YMCA in Poughkeepsie, he loved watching MASH and Friends and enjoyed camping with his family. He is survived by his daughter Lynnaet Ranieri and her husband James of Poughkeepsie, NY and his son Joseph J. Moran Jr. of Fishkill, NY, his brother Robert J. Moran of Hyde Park, NY and his Four grandchildren Jayme Moran, Ashley , James and Kristie Ranieri and his great grandson Jacob Wilkins. Joe was also predeceased by his 4 brothers James, Edward, Raymond and Richard Moran and his sister Adelaide Decker. Calling hours will be held Friday March 17, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral Services will be held 10am Saturday March 18, 2017 at the Funeral Home with Burial to follow at Union Cemetery.
