Obituary of Elias Nesheiwat

Elias Nesheiwat ,76, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. A resident since 1976, he was born in Salt, Jordan on January 6, 1941, the son of Issa and Sabha Nesheiwat. On October 1, 1966. Elias married Wadia Sahawneh and she survives him at home. Elias was an entrepreneur that owned a Express Citgo for over 45 years and a pillar of the community. retiring in 2011. He was a true leader, not only in his family, but anyone who came in to contact with him. Elias was a member of St. James Church. He loved to travel. His family was his world and he loved being with them. In addition to his wife, Elias is survived by his children; daughter and son-in-law, Iman and Ghassan of Florida, son and daughter-in-law Aiman and Samira Nesheiwat of Poughkeepsie, NY, and son Issa, son and daughter-in-law Firas and Wafaa of Poughkeepsie. Daughter and son-in -law Nancy and Simon Michail. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Sophia , Teresa, Elias,Ramon, Olivia, Lucas, Noor, Jospeh, John, Anthony, Mathew. And Great grand children Domenick, and Julianna. As well as his 2 sisters Hanna and Nayfeh. As well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 5pm to 9pmat St. James Antiochian Church, Violet Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017at 1030am at St. James Church and burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Timothy P.
