Obituary of Carmen Nilda Ramos

Carmen Nilda  Ramos, 89 of North Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2017 surrounded by her family at home.  Carmen previously lived in Pleasant Valley, NY and had lived in the Hudson Valley for over 40 years before relocating to South Carolina.  She was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico  on July 16, 1927 and was the daughter of Juan Lugo and Dolores Perez.  Carmen married Francisco Ramos O'Neill on December 29, 1950 at Saint John's Church in New York, NY, and he predeceased her on June 15, 2013.  Carmen retired from BOCES food services in the early 1990's.  She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea in N. Myrtle Beach, SC.  She was outgoing and jovial.  She adored and lover her family - making her time with them joyful.  Most of all, she adored her beloved husband and their time together with family, friends and playing Bingo.  In addition to her husband, Carmen was predeceased by her daughter Norma Dorsey.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Carmen and Barry Silverstein, son and daughter-in-law Frank and Carla Ramos and daughter Myrna Ramos.  Also surviving are her grandchildren; Scott Silverstein, Taanya Mannain, Eric Silverstein, Kiesha Jackson, Elizabeth Carrion Azze, Shannon Ramos, Brand Rawlings and Simone Ramos, as well as her 10 great-grandchildren; Skye, Savannah, Sadie and Sienna Silverstein, Hunter Silverstein, Karl, Aidan and Carmen Mannain and Shea and Aliza Ramos.  Services will be held 10am May 8th at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery where both Carmen and Francisco will be laid to rest. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of your choice.
