Obituary of Daniel J. McAllister
Daniel J. McAllister, of Pleasant Valley, NY passed away peacefully at his home on Monday June 12th 2017 with his family at his side. He was 66.
Born in Poughkeepsie NY on March 28th 1951 he was the son of the late Joseph and Frances (Sweeney) McAllister. He was a graduate of Arlington High School. He married Mary Quattrociocchi in 1976 at Mt. Carmel Church. They have two children they loved and shared their lives with their daughter Summer McAllister - Salzarulo (husband Adam) and son Brodie McAllister.
He was a retired gifted mechanic who worked for the Town of LaGrange – Highway Department for 23 years. He also was the owner of Dapper Dan's Marine Repair. Danny enjoyed numerous hobbies. He was always found outdoors, either riding his Harley or boating on the Hudson. He was a classic car enthusiast who was a lifelong lover of Doo-wop music. Danny enjoyed camping with his family and friends at Lake George or vacationing at the beach.
He is also survived by many loving family members including, Kim Manzi, Robin Keeley, Sandy McAllister (Michael Brooker), Kelly McAllister ( wife Hilary), Scott McAllister ( wife Victoria), Drew McAllister, Monty McAllister, Tammy McAllister (Jon Burke), Guy McAllister (wife Rhondy), Matt and Cathy Gartland, John & Pat Quattrociocchi. He was fortunate to have many loving nieces and nephews, very dear friends that were a part of his family, including Butch and Debbie Roe, Jim and Cindy Hart, Patty and John Grega, the Shook family and many other close friends. He also is survived by his faithful canine companion Wiley.
Visitation will be held Friday June 16th from 4:00 – 8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Monday June 19th at Our Lady Of Mt Carmel Church Poughkeepsie, with burial to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital at St.Jude.org.
