Obituary of David J. Barry

David J. Barry, age 43, of Pleasant Valley, died Monday, July 3, 2017 at home in Pleasant Valley. David was born September 27, 1973 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is the son of G. David and Mary Ann (DeGroodt) Barry Jr. of Pleasant Valley, New York. David was a graduate of Arlington High School and also attended Dutchess Community College. David was a local resident all of his life. He loved to read, work on computers and build models but he really loved being with his brothers and take care of others. He is survived by father and mother G. David and Mary Ann (DeGroodt) Barry Jr., brother Brian Barry and his wife Jessica of Pleasant Valley, NY., brother Scott Barry of Pleasant Valley, NY., fiancé Amanda Tompkins of Pleasant Valley, NY and his loved niece and nephew Emma and Gavin. David is also survived by several Aunts and Uncles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Monday July 10, 2017 at Holy Trinity Church 775 Main Street Poughkeepsie, New York. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in David's name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association 7 Skyline Drive Hawthorne, New York.
