Diana Schopen was my neighbor - and oh what a neighbor she was. Diana was known throughout our neighborhood for all good works. She took neighbors to church and she visited other homebound neighbors faithfully for years. Everyone in the neighborhood enjoyed her holiday hand delivered homemade treats.
It was a pleasure to have Diana as a neighbor because she kept her front yard and her backyard beautifully decorated. The day after Diana passed away I saw her son putting up her Christmas lights. Diana’s son explained that he knew his mother would want her Christmas lights up as soon as the first week of December was here.
When Diana invited her neighbors over for a holiday visit, it was a special event with great food and lots of warm hospitality. Her neighbors will miss all the ways Diana made her neighborhood a better place to live.
