To my Schaefer clan: I am so sorry that I cannot be with you guys today to say goodbye to uncle Ernie, he was one of charisma, intelligence, and always know how to make the room light up. I am grateful that I had the opportunity in my lifetime to meet him, spend time with him and laugh with him. I can just see him now up there with grandpa making jokes and telling stories. I still have the white horse that he gave me years ago. It will sit in my home until the end of my days and then I will pass it onto my son to keep safe and to keep his memory alive in our house. Ernie was such a special man and a special friend. Lee and I considered him and Edie "family" and shared so many happy times with both of them - we got together frequently and never ran out of wonderful conversation and fun. Lee and Ernie were like brothers, even in business together, and the years we spent with him were an important part of our lives. I shall miss him and perhaps he and Lee are together once again - one never knows!
