Obituary of James Michael Cronin

James Michael Cronin, 74, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at home.  Born September 29, 1943 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Patrick Aloysius Cronin and Rita Sullivan Cronin.  He had been a local resident for 22 years.  James attended Manhattan Prep. and served in the United States Air Force.  On September 19, 1981 he married Joan T. Daly at St. John's Church in Bronx and she survives him at home.  James had worked as an Iron Worker for the Iron Workers Local #40 and he retired January 1, 1992.  He was a member of St. Martin de Porres Church and he enjoyed playing baseball, football, he loved to swim and was an avid Giants fan.  In addition to his wife Joan, James is survived by his three children; Sean Cronin of Manhattan, NY, Siobhan Cronin and fiancé Steve Jolicoeur of Schenectady, NY and Colleen Cronin of Poughkeepsie.  Also surviving is his grandson Leo James Jolicoeur, sisters; Rosemary Ozyck of New Haven, CT, Patricia Cronin of MA, niece and nephews Kathleen Leard Cronin, Patrick Cronin and Brendan Aloysius Cronin.  James was predeceased by his brother David P. Cronin.  Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 4-8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 9:30am at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Rd., Poughkeepsie, NY and burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  To send online condolences, please visit our website at www.doylefuneralhome.com
