Obituary of Kevin Shawn Wright

Kevin Shawn Wright, 51, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born in Beacon, NY on August 17, 1966, he was the son of the late George Lee and Marguerite (Barksdale) Wright, Sr. He had attended Poughkeepsie Day School and Poughkeepsie Schools. A lifetime local resident, Kevin worked in Manufacturing for Eastern Offset Printing and Blocksom Company. He loved to fish, watch sports and loved karate films.

Kevin is survived by his daughter Shalandra Davis of Long Island, NY and his son Nafis Wright of Schenectady, his brothers; Roy Watterson of Poughkeepsie,  George Lee Wright, Jr. (April) of Elmira, Philip Wright (Patrena) of Poughkeepsie, his sisters; Tatia Barksdale of Poughkeepsie, Faith Brown (DeMond) of Poughkeepsie, Donna Wright of Harrisburg, PA, Jacinta Barksdale of Poughkeepsie and one grandchild. Also surviving is his step-mother Christine Wright of Harrisburg, PA, two very good friends Omari Jones, Rasha Neal and his special cousin Kyle Johnson. In addition to his parents, Kevin was predeceased by his sister Stephanie Wright.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. The Funeral Service  will be held at 10:30am in the Funeral Home following visitation. Burial is private and  at the convenience of the family.
