Obituary of Joseph P. Simmons

Joseph P. Simmons  50 of Pleasant Valley passed away on January 18, 2018. at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on June 15, 1967 in Waterbury CT he was the son of the late William and the late Katherine Wagner Simmons Sr.

Joseph was married to Dorothy G. Ronk on September 9, 2012 at the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church.

Joseph was a mechanic for Alts Excavation in Staatsburg, New York.

Joseph was a lifelong resident of the area, he attended schools in Amenia and was a member of the American Pool Association and the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. Joseph loved playing Pool. loved riding Motorcycles  and liked watching wrestling.

Joseph is survived by his wife in Pleasant Valley, NY., his children Tina LaFumee (Edwin) of Hyde Park, NY., Michael McArthur (Fiance Samantha Menegio) of Hyde Park, NY., Amanda McArthur (Fiance Michael Albertson) of Pleasant Valley, NY.,  Justin McArthur of Pleasant Valley, NY., Joseph Simmons Jr. of Ohio, Jamie Imperati of Ohio, sisters Virginia Thorn, Terry Simmons, Wandy Roma, brother Raymond Simmons, Steven Simmons and several grandchildren.

Joseph was also predeceased by his two brothers William Simmons Jr. and Chester Simmons.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday January 23, 2018 from 11am to 3pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. There will be a Funeral Service during the calling hours at 2pm. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family asks that everyone dress casual and don't forget your hat.
