It was a privilege to know Walter. He was quick to crack a joke, start up a convseration, lend a helping hand and quietly show his love through his countless acts of kindness. He watched me grow and helped me succeed. Saturday and Sunday mornings spent drinking coffee, sharing the Journal and digging into whatever delicious treat he decided to bring were special times when we sat long and talked much. Wednesday dinners complete with oversized dessert portions were nights I looked forward to and cherished. His generosity to my family, in particular to my siblings improved and enriched their lives. Water was a loving son, father, and grandfather. He adored his children and granddaughter. May he rest in peace in the Kingdom of Heaven with all the angels and saints. I offer my sincerest sympathy to all of the Berkley family.My cousin Butch visited me often when I was a patient in Lutheran Care.We had many quiet talks,but also saw a lot of his sense of humor.As one of the oldest cousins(in a family with more than 40 first cousins!)he led by example and showed us the value of a good education.He will be missed.

My most sincere sympathies to Walt's family. Walt worked with my father at IBM where they became good friends. He would come to my parents' home in Marlboro, NY frequently and would always be there to help them as needed. I will always remember his quick wit and sense of humor. He will be missed by all. God bless.
