Obituary of Margaret Mary Connevey

Margaret Mary Connevey, age 89, of Rhinebeck, NY, passed away on Feb 6, 2018, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Margaret Mary was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on Dec 3, 1928 to Margaret (Lynch) and Carl Connevey.  She graduated Valedictorian from Poughkeepsie High School and graduated from the College of New Rochelle and post graduate at La Salle University.

Margaret Mary worked for Air France where she traveled the world, she was a French translator for the United Nations and later retired from the Arlington School District as a French Teacher. She loved animals, gardening and photography and often combined those talents by taking photos of local farms and gardens. She was proud to be Irish Catholic and lived her life as a headstrong, independent woman who always found a way to give a smile, a compliment and thanks, for even the smallest gesture.

She is survived by two nieces, Virginia Daley of Fort Myers, Fl and Carol Martin of Hyde Park, NY, several grand nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Margaret Mary is predeceased by her sister Juanita Connevey and her brother Charles Hatley Connevey.

Calling Hours will be held Friday February 9, 2018 from 11am to 12pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral Services will follow at 12pm and burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
