Obituary of Esther W. Marcojohn

Esther W. Marcojohn, 91 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Esther was born on January 22, 1927 in Troy, NY to the late Peter and Hazel Harris Wansey.  She married Thomas J. Marcojohn at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He predeceased her on August 28, 1986.

A local resident all her life, Esther was employed as an operator for New York Telephone. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, enjoyed traveling, crocheting, attending bingo, making jewelry, loved her dogs Zoe and Fender and always supported and helped her family.

Esther is survived by her daughter, Rita Marcojohn and spouse Christine Zinn of San Jose, Ca, son Jay and Valerie Marcojohn of Poughkeepsie, NY, son-in-law Frank Carlon, of Poughkeepsie, NY, grandchildren Casey (Andrew) Roe, Jamie (Stephanie) Paruolo, Dillon (Mistie) Carlon, Justin (Amanda) Carlon, Spencer Carlon, Shannon McGuirk, great grandchildren Jason, Jack, Noah, Finnegan and Makenna. In addition to her parents and husband, Esther is predeceased by her daughter Bonita M. Carlon and brother Edward Wansey.

Calling hours are Friday, March 16, 2017 from 4pm to 7pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 with Funeral Services on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 10am at the Funeral Home.
