Obituary of James D. Cierniak

James D. Cierniak, 52, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at home.  Born in Poughkeepsie on July 1, 1965, he was the son of the late John and Margaret B. Jones Cierniak.  James was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and he had worked as a technician for the Town of Poughkeepsie Sewer Treatment Department.  He loved playing guitar and listening to music.  He loved nature, being outdoors, astrology and animals.  James is survived by his children; his daughter Jasmyn Cierniak of Poughkeepsie and his son Luke and his wife Gracie Cierniak of Millsboro, DE.  Also surviving are his brothers Jeffery and his wife Karen Cierniak of New Paltz, NY and Jeremy and his wife Theresa Cierniak of NY, his sister Davida Taylor of Virginia, his girlfriend Susan Vossler of Poughkeepsie and his dog Coco.  In addition to his parents, James was also predeceased by his brother John Cierniak.  Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 10:00am - 1:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.  The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00noon, during visitation.  Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Hyde Park, NY.
