Obituary of Gertrude E. " Trudy " Pectle

Gertude E.  " Trudy" Pectle 87 of Wappingers, New York died Wednesday July 4, 2018 at the Lutheran Care Facility in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Trudy was born in Ellenville, New York on August 17, 1930, she was the daughter of Frederick and Teresa Meir Fuchs. Trudy was first married to Alfred Willson he predeceased her in 1960, Trudy then married Forrest Robert Grundon On July 12, 1961 at St. John's Lutheran Church, he predeceased her on May 21, 2003. Trudy then was remarried to Donald Pectle at St. John's Church on April 19, 2008
Trudy was a graduate from Oneonta with a degree in teaching. She taught in the Spackenkill School District and after retirement she went on to start the Battered Women's program at the YWCA.
Trudy was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church Poughkeepsie, the Oneonta Alumni, past Board member of the MHA and also managed the Food Bank at St. John's.
Trudy loved to Garden, Plant Flowers and Cook.
Trudy is survived by her husband Donald Pectle of Wappingers, NY., her children Charles Frederick " Chip " Grundon and his wife Julie of Wilmington, NY., Steven Alfred Grundon and his wife Cheryl of Fletcher, VT., Lori Cuda of Scotia, NY., her step children Christopher Allen Pectle and his wife Marci of Poughkeepsie, NY., Todd Pectle and his wife Kelly of Poughkeepsie, NY., and Christine Parker of Wallkill, NY. Trudy is also survived by one brother Edward Fuchs and 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Trudy was predeceased by her first husband Alfred Willson and her second husband Forrest Robert Grundon and her brother Gus Fuchs.
Calling Hours will be held Sunday July 8, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral Services will be held 10am Monday July 9, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church 55 Wilbur Blvd. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers memorial donations in Trudy's name be made to St. John's Lutheran Church 55 Wilbur Blvd. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603.
