Obituary of Richard N. Hanson

Richard N. Hanson 59, of Pleasant Valley, NY passed away at home on Tuesday July 24, 2018.

He was born on April 3, 1959 in Poughkeepsie to the late Neil Hanson and Janet Howitt who survives at her home in Florida.

Richard was a 1977 graduate from Arlington High School.  He then attended the University of Alabama where he received his BS degree in psychology and mathematics. Upon graduating he began his work as a financial consultant in Dutchess County.

Richard was a talented runner and was later inducted into the Arlington Sports Hall of Fame.  He directed the MHRRC Summer Twilight Seriesand coached the Pleasant Valley Cobras Soccer Team. He also volunteered with many organizations including Pleasant Valley Chamber of Commerce, Greystone Programs, MHRRC, and the Girl Scouts.

Richard is survived by his sons Sebastian Hanson of Oregon and Reese Hanson of Pleasant Valley, his mother Janet Smith and her husband Eric, his brothers Roy, Jimmy, Donald and his sister Debbie Polidoro, his former wife Marisa Sutera Strange and several nieces and nephews.
