Obituary of Florence B. Dow

F. Bernice "Bea" Dow, 93, passed away on August 3rd quietly in her sleep after a prolonged illness. She is survived by her daughter Debra Dow McDermott, her son Bernard Dow, his wife Sherry, grandsons Shawn Dow, his fiancee Leslie Mahan, James Dow, his wife Abbay and her great-granddaughter Riley Dow as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bea lived in Poughkeepsie until 3 years ago when she moved to Florida due to her health and to be near her son and daughter-in-law. She was married to James Dow July 17th 1955 who predeceased her in January of 1989. She spent the last 40 or so years either playing or working in the cashier booth at McCann Golf Course.
Burial will take place at the Union Cemetery in East Park on Thursday September 6th at 10 a. m. There will be no services or calling hours as per her wishes. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association
