Obituary of June G. Yergey

June G. Yergey, 93, of LaGrange, NY passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Lutheran Care Center.  Born on August 17, 1925 in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Elizabeth Ray Linnartz.  She graduated from Shrub Oak High School, where she was Salutatorian, and attended Dutchess Community College.  June married her husband, Russell G. Yergey, Sr. at the Methodist Church in Verbank, NY.  Mr. Yergey predeceased her on November 18, 2009.  June had worked as a Para-legal for attorney Richard Rosen.  She was a member of the Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church.  In addition, June was a member of the LaGrange #2 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the VFW Wappingers Ladies Auxiliary and various Grove Granges.  June was a campaign manager for Rep. Reznick and she campaigned for Robert Kennedy.  She enjoyed reading, camping and music.  June is survived by Mary and William Longfield, daughter and son-in-law of LaGrange, Russell G. and Patricia Yergey, Jr., of LaGrange, son and daughter-in-law and Sharlene Calabro, daughter of LaGrange.  Also surviving are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, June was predeceased by her daughter Caroline King, her son Richard Yergey and 3 brothers and 2 sisters.  There will be a memorial service held on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church.  The Family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Hudson Valley Chapter, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Ste. 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy P.
