Obituary of Irene M. Wanglund

Irene Wanglund passed away Sunday December 30, 2018 at home after a long illness.

Irene married the love of her life Robert on October 24, 1953 and enjoyed 65 happy years together.

Irene was born raised, educated and married in Greenpoint (Brooklyn) and was the beloved daughter of the late Mary and Stephen Senk and dear sister to the late Edwin Senk.

In Addition to her husband, she is survived by her dear sister in-law Lois Badaracco and her two sons Richard (Cyndi), Robert (Marianne), her loving cousins Carol Hahn, Walter (Lorraine), Greg (Pat)Terlecki, her best friends Jozia and John Lojko and special friends Carla, Cynthia and her companion Anita. Irene is also survived by seven nieces and nephews as well as grand and great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to send a special thank to her nurses Helen and Teresa from Mid Hudson.

Calling Hours will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday January 3, 2019 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:15pm on Friday January 3, 2019 at St. Martin dePorres Church Cedar Valley Road Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
