Obituary of Gloria Engelhardt

Gloria Engelhardt, 88 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Gloria was a resident of Lutheran Care Center since September 2015.

 Gloria was born in Manhattan, NY on June 16, 1930 to the late Max and Elizabeth Jankowitz Schwartz.

December 7, 1947 She married the late George Engelhardt in Poughkeepsie, New York.

 Gloria was previously employed at many places including Wallace Dept Store, Big Ben, Lum's Restaurant and Marist College in the Dining Room where she loved serving the students and the faculty their meals.

 She was a member of the Friendship Family Center. Gloria always worked hard for her family, loved to play bingo and be with her family and friends.

Gloria is survived by her children, Kimberly Mallen, Poughkeepsie, NY

George, Florida and Michael, LaGrange,NY  Eric, of Pleasant Valley, NY, Karl of Highland, NY

Grandchildren:  Joshua of Florida, Jessica of California, Carleigh, Florida,  Ashley, Zach, Poughkeepsie, Tara, Georgia, Rachel, LaGrange, NY, Christine, North Dakota

 great grandchildren:  Jordyn, Florida, Miles, Geogia, Emil, North Dakota

Brother Walter (Blanche) Schwartz of Brooklyn, NY and nephew Elliot Schwartz.

Funeral Services will be 10am Monday, February 4, 2019 officiated by Cantor Hirschenfang at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Burial will take place at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY. The family would like to thank the staff of Vassar Brothers Medical Center for the great care and compassion that was given to Gloria.
