Dear Comunale Family,
Tony was such a great guy - always a pleasure to deal with! He hosted two events for us at the Italian Center; one was a fundraiser and the other was the repast for my mother's funeral. Everything he did was done with class, good taste and practicality. He was a true gentleman! My father knew Tony as well, through the school districts, and thought very highly of him also.
Please accept my condolences on the lost of such a great guy. May you feel consolation through faith, knowing that his life touched and influenced so many others in positive ways.
Sincerely,
Carol Knops Simonetty

To Nick and his family my condolences for the loss of Tony. Although I never met Tony, Nick spoke very highly of him and I know he will be missed by his family and friends. Our common thread is our love of golf and I hear the rough in heaven is very playable :-). May all his putts be short.

Tony was one of the most unique and special people Ive ever known, smart, funny, kind, and chivalrous, a true gentleman. He also was a great dancer. I’ll always treasure the memories of lindying with him to his favorite song, “ Just a Gigolo,” and all those Friday nights at the Italian Center, burning up the dance floor. Tony was a great inspiration to me, like a father, friend, and mentor all rolled into one. I will miss him so much.

God bless this wonderful man and dear friend who made this world a better place.
Among his many accomplishments, Tony will, first and foremost, always be remembered for his outgoing and generous spirit. Ever the diplomat, "mayor", and life of the party, Tony was a true gentleman with a great sense of humor who knew how to enjoy life.
We will miss him very much.
May he now rest in peace.

Tony was a colleague of mine at PHS. From his welcoming presence to his extremely inquisitive mind he was Mr. Poughkeepsie City school district. His caring for his counsel-lees as well as his colleagues was legendary. Tony never saw a job that he couldn't do or volunteer for. I was fortunate to consider him a friend and to have played golf with in the Italian Center golf league with him, a passion of his. Never have I met a more caring man, a man that remembered everything about everyone he came in contact with. Tony will be missed because he was one of a kind. Rest in peace my friend.

OMG! I can't believe this he will truly be missed . Tony was in my eyes the greatest man I could ever have the honor to know. He was one of the greatest dancer and his heart was bigger than his body. When my son bought his first home he moved next door to Tony it truly was a blessing my son couldn't of asked for a better neighbor. He became family to my son/wife and my 2 grandchildren and my mom I'll never forget when mom passed away Tony was first one there to offer a hand. We all will truly miss him. RIP Tony you truly were loved and will never be forgotten.

Mr. Comunale was my guidance counselor at Poughkeepsie High School (class on 1980). He was always willing to lend a helping hand and listening ear. Throughout the years, my parents would bump into Mr. Comunale periodically while running errands in the Poughkeepsie area. He always remembered them and mentioned my brother and me to them. What a kind, compassionate man he was. Rest In Peace, Mr. Comunale.

Tony was a gift to all of us. His sense of humor of welcoming demeanor were contagious and made one feel comfortable and at ease. When he worked with us at BOCES, he always put the student in the forefront, seeking to find employment or a better life for each of them.
I played golf with Tony, Sylvester, and George Ticcony on several occasions and they were some of the best rounds of golf I enjoyed over my 81 years. Going to the racetrack with Tony was an adventure and he would have games to play on the bus and at the track, always organizing things in the best possible fashion.
You had to love Tony, he earned it with his love, attention and caring. He will be missed until we meet again, hopefully, in a higher place. I know Tony will be there.

I was so very sorry to hear of Mr, Comunale’s passing. He was my Guidance Couselor in High School and helped me make one of the most important decisions of my life. I had wanted to go to work after graduation and he and my Mother encouraged me to go to college instead! He even helped me apply for a full ride scholarship. I was looking forward to seeing him during my upcoming visit to Poughkeepsie for my 50th Class Reunion. I wanted to say, “Thank You for your caring Guidance so many years ago”! He really cared about students and helping them sort out their future direction! May he RIP.
