Thomas P. Aguis, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 25, 2020. He had been a local resident since 1995 and was a member of St. Martin dePorres as well as the Dutchess County Pistol Association in Wappinger Falls.
Thomas was born in Elmont, NY on April 13, 1959, and was the son of the late Joseph Aguis and the late Lily Aguis. Thomas married Liliana Meneses at St. Vincent de Paul's Church in Elmont, NY on April 8, 1989.
Thomas worked for the MTA in NYC for 30 years, providing the best life he could for his family, and retiring in March of 2017. He was a man who valued his family and friends above all else. He had a strong passion for working on cars & motorcycles, driving muscle cars, and riding his Harley Davidson. He took much pride in his handyman talents and craftsmanship, often doing work inside and outside the home; there was always a pending project. In the recent years since retirement, he became well acquainted with those at the Dutchess County Pistol Association and enjoyed getting together for target shooting with the guys each week. He was loved very much by his family and friends, and will be dearly missed.

Thomas was predeceased by his brother Joseph Aguis.
Due to the underlying circumstances, services at this time will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a celebration of Thomas' life at a later date to be announced.
