Obituary of Ellen M. Daley

Ellen M. Daley, 84 of Poughkeepsie, NY died December 10, 2020 at the Pines In Poughkeepsie.                    

Ellen was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 3, 1936 to Edwin and Beatrice Hageman Purdy. She married James V. Daley, Sr. on June 21, 1964 at Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. He predeceased her in December, 2004.

A local resident all her life, Ellen was previously employed at the Arlington School Cafeteria. She was a member of the Hyde Park United Methodist Church as well as the Pleasant Valley Seniors Club. Ellen liked baseball and was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers and later Mets fan. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, playing bingo, playing cards, going to casinos, and camping.

Ellen is survived by her sons James V. Daley of Poughkeepsie, NY, Rich Daley of Atlanta, daughter Colleen Daley-LaChance of Hudson, NY, two granddaughters, two grandsons, brother Ed Purdy, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brother Jack Purdy.

Graveside services will be held 2pm Monday December 14, 2020 at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603.
