Obituary of Andrew J. Metrando

Andrew J. Metrando, 94, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Lutheran Care Center.  A lifelong resident, he was born in Poughkeepsie on February 16, 1926 to the late Joseph and Mary Gianeaitonio Metrando.  Andrew was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and he served in the United States Army.  On August 5, 1952 he married Mary F. Hedricks in Poughkeepsie and she predeceased him on July 26, 2013.  Andrew worked as a tool clerk for IBM in Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1988.  He was a member of Holy Trinity Church and the American Legion 1302.  He loved the Mets and hunting and fishing.  Andrew is survived by his children; daughter Jan Murphy (Patrick) of Avenel, NJ and his son David Metrando (Susan) of Highland, NY.  Also surviving are his grandchildren Christopher J. Murphy and Sara Misura and his two sisters Suzanne Campbell of Poughkeepsie and Diana Faust of New Windsor.  In addition to his wife Mary, Andrew was predeceased by 7 brothers and 2 sisters.  Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Timothy P.
