Obituary of Gloria Barresi

Gloria M. Barresi, 93, of Hyde Park, NY passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Gloria was born on November 27, 1927 in Mount Vernon, NY to the late Sirce and Genevive Espazito Tarantelli. She married John A. Barresi who predeceased her.

Gloria worked several jobs during her lifetime including welding during the WWII era and at Dutchess County Family Court in Poughkeepsie. The last work she did was as a volunteer driver for those who needed assistance getting to appointments. Her new life as a born again believer was dedicated to consistently and compassionately praying for anyone and everyone who asked for prayer and even those who didn't. Gloria was a valiant prayer warrior.

Gloria is survived by her son Dennis Barresi and wife Rhonda, daughters Geneva Barresi, Dorothea Roche and husband Robert, Joanne Shute and husband Thomas, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, brother Armond Tarantelli and well as many other loved ones both family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A Graveside Service will take place on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY.
