Obituary of Olga Ferrence Lucas

Olga Ferrence Lucas, 96, of Poughkeepsie, NY, died March 2, 2021 at Northern Dutchess Hospital due to effects of the coronavirus.She was born in Jersey City, NJ, Auguat 27, 1924, the daughter of Harry and Pauline Ferrence. In early childhood she moved with her family to Beacon, NY, receiving her education through the local school system. On July 11, 1943 she married her loving husband, Vincent Lucas, at St. Joachim's Church, Beacon, NY.

She was employed as a IBM Contractor for over 43 years before retiring from Temco Services 2007. Olga was an avid readerand passionate about politics. Cared for and loved by many, both young and old, she will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, zest for life, abiding faith in God and her ever present radiating smile. She will be missed.

Olga is survived by her devoted son, Richard Lucas and her daighter in-law, Lynn Kara Lucas. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent, June 1981, and by her four siblings: brothers Andrew and Peter Ferrence and sisters Ann Ireland and Evelyn Zeitler. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
