Obituary of Charles T. Pfeifer

Charles Thomas Pfeifer, 81, passed away on March 19th, 2021. He died peacefully in his Florida home surrounded by his family. Charlie was born in Vassar Hospital, on October 19th, 1939 to the late John and the late Rose Mary Pfeifer.

Charlie was a lifelong resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, and attended Arlington High School. Charlie was in the United States Air Force from 1956-1959. He married Sara (Regan) Pfeifer on December 10th,1960. They celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage this past December. Charlie was a lifetime member of Elks BPOE #275, American Legion, and The Loyal Order of the Moose. Charlie was a jack of all trades. He worked as a salesman, owned a donut shop, multiple liquor and furniture stores, and The Laundromat for the last 34 years. Charlie loved to attend “church” every Sunday with his friends and family. 

In addition to his wife, Sara, Charlie is survived by two sons, Brian and Marc Pfeifer (Penny Williams); three Grandchildren, Garrett (Allie), Taylor, and Jordyn Pfeifer; one Great Grandchild, Maci Pfeifer. 

Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603  The Poughkeepsie Elks 275 will hold a Memorial Service at 6:45pm.

There will be a private Burial at the convenience of the family.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to:
