Obituary of Rosemary Jane Kelly

Rosemary Jane (Boots) Kelly, 85 of Willsboro, NY, died Friday April 30, 2021 in Bluffton, SC. She was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on January 28, 1936 to the late Mario and Helen Antenucci, and on February 23, 1957 she married Edward J. Kelly Jr., at Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. He predeceased her on February 3, 2010. She was also predeceased by Anthony J. Antenucci (step-father), Dolores Case (sister),& Anthony Antenucci (brother).

Rosemary graduated Arlington HS Class of 1954, and after she & Ed raised their five children in LaGrange NY, they wintered at their  home in Vero Beach, FL, and summers in the Adirondacks at Lake Champlain, NY, enjoying many a round of golf, barbecues, boat rides & sunsets. They also frequented to Bluffton- Hilton Head SC.

Boots was a homemaker, caregiver,community volunteer, Eucharistic Minister and a dear friend to many. She was a member of Holy Trinity Women's Alter Society, Parish and School, St. Francis Hospital, Italian Center Women's Bocce League and IBM Women's Golf League. She was also a parishioner of St. Phillips Church of Willsboro, NY, St. Gregory Church of Bluffton, SC, and St. Helen's of Vero Beach, FL. Boots loved her NY Yankees, NY Giants, Notre Dame Football, Golf, Bocce and Tennis.

Sharing family gatherings and laughs with all her children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren was most precious to her. Boot’s wonderful sense of humor and lively conversations  will be missed by many, but not forgotten. 

Rosemary is survived by her children, Kevin Kelly (Niki Garnett) of Los Angeles, CA, Kathleen Kelly (Tom Reinheimer) of Annapolis, MD, Theresa Wilkins (Patrick Wilkins) of Queensbury, NY, Edward J.Kelly III, of Montgomery, NY and Maureen Briody (David Collins) of Bluffton, SC, 10 Grandchildren, Sean Scott (Lisa Scott), Peter Hardisty (Kayla McDonald), Felicia Lynn (Matthew Lynn), Andrew Hardisty (Franciris Burgos Ortiz), Ryan Kelly (Vi Trinh), Victoria Wilkins (Trevor Sheehan), Lauren Kelly (Ryan Teal), Patrick Briody (Tori Bowman), Megan Briody and Logan Kelly and 5 Great Grand-Children. Other surviving family include Joseph A. Antenucci (Brother), Nancy Cervone (Sister-in-law), Joseph Kelly (Brother-in-law), Nancy Lasko, Joan Dirac, Phyllis Kosakowski, Patricia Murphy, Kay Ann Michaels (Cousins) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Burial is to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY. Memorial Donations can be made to Amedisys Hospice of Bluffton or  the American Cancer Society.
