Obituary of Susan Tully Tooker

Susan Tooker passed away on May 22, 2021 with her children by her side. Born in
Poughkeepsie, Susan was the daughter of William and Mary (Hannon) Tully. She was a nurse who loved
caring for her patients, an active member of the Democratic Party and had lifelong passion for learning.
She fiercely loved her friends and family including her children, who she regarded as her “best work,”
her many siblings, nieces and nephews and her granddaughter, who brought her so much joy in her final
months.
She is survived by her children Lynda Tooker (husband Armando Ortiz), Andrew Tooker (wife Megan),
and Jared Tooker; granddaughter Alanna Ortiz; and siblings including her twin sister Mary Finch
(husband Robert), brothers William Tully Jr. and Michael Tully, and sisters Anne Tully, Kathleen Tully,
and Margaret Tully. She is predeceased by her father and mother, William and Mary Tully, her sister
Patricia Ballard and brother James Tully.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday May 27, 2021 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral
Home 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie. Funeral Services will be 10am Friday May 28, 2021 at Holy
Trinity Church 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie.
