Obituary of June M. Takacs

June M. Takacs, 95, of Pleasant Valley, NY passed away on May 27, 2021 at the Wingate at Ulster Nursing Home.  Born on September 29, 1925 in Barre, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Lillian McAvoy O'Neil.  June was a local resident since 1943 and previously of Buffalo, NY.  She was a graduate of Bennett High School in Buffalo, NY.  On May 20, 1945 she married Ernest S. Takacs at St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie and he predeceased her on January 29, 2006.  June had worked as a bookkeeper for Alfa Laval and Marchetti Roth Accounting as a tax consultant, retiring in 1991.  She enjoyed quilting, reading, skiing and was a member of the First Dutchess Quilters.  She was also a member of Holy Trinity Church.  June is survived by her daughter Patricia Schettino and husband Nicholas of LaGrangeville, NY, her daughter-in-law Robin Takacs of Poughkeepsie, grandchildren Amber Amos (Christine), Stephanie Plattner (Curt), Ashley Takacs, as well as her great-grandchildren, Logan Amos, Arianna Mason, Brody Plattner, Kirsten Mitchell and Dana Bell.  Additionally June is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Ingraham of Troy, NY and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband Ernest, June was predeceased by her son Michael Edward Takacs, sister Doris Brinkel and her brothers, Donald O'Neil, and Rev. Joseph Ingraham.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 1:00pm at Holy Trinity Church.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy P.
