On Gray Street, I had the pleasure of watching the Corliss children grow and develop under the guidance of their loving parents. They always had a polite and friendly greeting as they walked by my house on their way to St. Mary’s School.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this most difficult time.

Frank was an amazing man…funny, caring and just great to be around. I enjoyed Frank’s company so much that I chose to go to summer school for every summer of my high school career just so we had time to talk on the car ride to and from Poughkeepsie High School.

Robert Bolt wrote in a “Man for All Seasons”
“And if you were a great teacher, who would know?”
“You would know. God would know. Your students would know”, he concluded.
“Not a bad public that”.
Frank Corliss was a great teacher and a great human being. He was a man of character, integrity, compassion, humor, humility, authenticity and class.
His love of life and his balance and made the world a better place. His perspective and sense of duty helped repair it.
We will miss you Frank

Frank was our fun loving neighbor and a friend who graced our lives with his intellect, kindness, and playful sense of humor. Frank lived life to the fullest and was a positive influence on our three sons. During our get-togethers, he would share stories of his students and of Poughkeepsie which demonstrated his deep love of being an educator and of his community. Frank was a very special man who loved his family and we will miss him deeply. Linda, Kristen and Andrew we are so sorry for your loss.

Ever since we moved into the neighborhood, Frank and Linda have been wonderful friends. And in Frank's natural talent as an educator, was always encouraging and helpful with guidance for our girls through their elementary years at St Martin de Porres and high school years at Our Lady of Lourdes. We will miss you dearly Uncle Frank, and we know you are now at peace with the Lord.
Dearest Linda, our deepest condolences and prayers are with you and the family.

Frank, what a great man. He was my high school (PHS) teacher. We met up again at Arlington HS, Frank was teh summer school Principal, I was in charge of security. We had many conversations of what we had done over the years. As an old school friend, Frank was gentleman, caring for others, helping many achieve their life goals.I will miss him and keep him my thoughts, prayers and conversations. A very positive man and influence many to do the rights things.

My condolences to Linda and family. Frank was my favorite teacher in PHS. I remember reading Class of 42 after we complained about reading some other boring book. He then pretty much identified each of us in the class as one of the characters in the book. It was the the most fun I ever had reading a book in school. Let’s not forget that wicked sense of humor! I've known Frank since age 5. His dad Robert or as I always called him "Mr. Corliss" was my principal when I entered kindergarten at Franklin School. I mat Frank around that time. In our growing years, our paths crossed many times....Little League, Jr. League, block dances, over a beer at a local "watering hole". Linda's parents were neighbors to my aunt and uncle on Arnold Rd?? We criss-crossed as adults at civic functions, golf outings etc. Frank never changed....always a smile and a little devil in his eyes...what a great guy. A crowning moment in our friendship was when Frank brought his dad, who always called me "Leonard" to my office for an eye exam. Mr. Corliss was in his declining years and wanted to pay for the visit. I refused payment. Mr. Corliss , I said, you are the reason I am here to provide this service. You set me on the path to education. We both sobbed and he accepted my thought. Frank was the product of a wonderful heritage and carried it on admirably. He too provided many with the best start educationally. His passing reminded me,(we are the same age) that even the best have an expiration date. Let Frank's life and memory of his pure goodness be an inspiration to us all. Linda and Kristen cherish his memory and may my friend Frank Corliss Rest in Peace.

I taught at the Arlington Area Summer School for many years and Frank as principal was always so caring and engaged with students and staff. Frank's warmth and dry sense of humor made the challenges of any given day a bit easier to tolerate. I am both shocked and saddened upon reading of his passing. Prayers of comfort to the family and close friends.

He was truly my favorite teacher at PHS. He was funny and a great teacher. He was a class act. He was one of a kind. I remember when I worked at Marshall’s as a teenager that he would come in with his brother all the time. SIP, I know you’ll be missed by all. My sincere condolence to your family and friends.

Always remember him from our old neighborhood. I grew up on south cherry street with a big family. He was well known as a teacher and baseball coach at PHS a easy person to talk to. Ran into him a few times in the last few years. Always reminiscing about the way we all grew up. Prayers and condolences to the family. Will miss you. Tim McCoy

I still remember the day when I first found out how funny Frank was. We were in the faculty room at PHS, and he told a story that had his audience hanging on his every word, and then roaring with laughter. Prior to that moment, I had only known Frank as a sharp dresser, consummate professional, dedicated and beloved teacher, and one of the kindest people I have ever known. I was delighted to find out that he was hilarious, as well. He will be missed by all who knew him. My sincere condolences to his family.
