Obituary of Elvira Maini Lombardi

Elvira Maini Lombardi, 87, of Hopewell Junction, NY passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Mid
Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was born on November 8, 1933 in Strangolagalli,
Province of Frosinone, Italy to the late Benedetto and Catarina Maini.
Elvira was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and gardening. Her family will always
remember her homemade pasta and sauce which were always a treat.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Louis and Jean Lombardi of Florida, her daughter and son-
in-law Mary Ann and Larry Day of Hyde Park, her two brothers Guido and Eugene Maini of Connecticut,
two grandchildren, Christopher Lombardi of Massachusetts and Stefani Lombardi of Poughkeepsie, her
three great-grandchildren, Madison, Logan, Eli and a host of nieces and nephews. Elvira was also
predeceased by her three sisters, Domenica Maini DeVellis, Giovanna Maini Antoniani and Gina Maini
Fratarcangeli.
The family of Elvira Lombardi would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Mid Hudson Regional
Hospital on Cooke 5 for all they did to keep her comfortable during her final days along with the Staff at
Hudson Valley Hospice. A special thanks goes to Elviras two home health aides, Kandee Shafer and
Karen Schwark for always being there to help during her time of need.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle
Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place
on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 12:00pm at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, NY
12533. Burial will follow at St. Denis Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers
