Obituary of Beverley J. Atkins

Beverly J. Atkins, 80 years old of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Pines in Poughkeepsie, NY. Beverly was born on April 15, 1941 in Beacon, NY to the late Charles and Elsie Dugger Atkins.

A local resident most of her life, Beverly received her AAS in Nursing from Dutchess Community College. She was previously employed as an RN at Castle Point VA Hospital. She was a Baptist Church member, loved sewing and enjoyed dancing to Motown, 50's, 60's and 70's music.

Beverly is survived by her daughters Christine (Phillip) Johnson of Port Orange, Fl, Karen Willis of Philadelphia, PA, grandchildren Tonesha McClinton, Tyrell McClinton, Marcus Rawles, Sapphaire Willis, Terricka Willis, Rhamodd Willis, Sterling Sheppard, great grandchildren Sapphaire Canter, Madysin Hill, Masye Hill, Aurora Thomas, and brother Warren Atkins.      

She is predeceased by Gloria Frye, Roberta Atkins, Margaret and Charles "Chubby" Atkins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
