Obituary of David Orce

David M. Orce, 54 of Poughkeepsie, NY died on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at St. Mary's Regional Hospital in Russellville, AK. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on February 20, 1967 to the late Henry John Orce and the former Margaret Ann Roarke. He married Lauren E. Miller on September 28, 1991 in Poughquag, NY.

A local resident all his life, David began his career serving in the United States Army. He was previously a Police Officer in the Village of Fishkill and Putnam County. During this time he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and past PBA President of the Village of Fishkill Police Department. For the last 30 years, Dave was employed as a Senior Nuclear Maintenance Technician at Indian Point until it’s closing in 2021 and loved his IPEC family.

Dave loved to fish and spend time with his family and his dogs. He was admired deeply by his friends and family for his humor, generosity and ability to brighten any room.

David is survived by his wife, Lauren E. Orce, his daughters Kimberly A. (Shaun) McLendon of Wappinger Falls, NY, Nicole T. Orce of Poughkeepsie, NY, son David M. Orce, Jr. of Poughkeepsie, NY, grandchildren John, Aubrey and Michael, brothers Mark (Sharon) Orce of OH, Kevin (Kerri) Orce of CT, sister Susan Orce of Dover, NY as well as several nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.  A Funeral Service will take place at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 10:00am with Burial to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
