Obituary of Elizabeth Eckwall

Elizabeth "Betty" A. Eckwall, 88, of Pleasant Valley, NY, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Betty was born on October 16, 1932 in Pittsfield, MA to the late George S. and Adele Nichols Andrews. She married Robert A. Eckwall on January 27, 1957 at Holy Trinity Church.
A Poughkeepsie resident all her life, Betty was locally educated and attended Dental Assistant School, working as a Dental Assistant to Dr. Abraham Tinkelman. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and a Founding Member of the Lebanese American Daughters. Betty was a wonderful homemaker and loved nothing more than spending time with her family and sharing her Lebanese heritage with her children and grandchildren through her cooking, baking and family gatherings. You were never a stranger in Betty’s home.
She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob), sons David (Randy) Eckwall of CT, Robert (Lisa) Eckwall of Kansas City, MO, Paul Eckwall of Pleasant Valley, NY, Steven (Nicole LaFalce) Eckwall of Poughkeepsie, NY, grandchildren Jensine, Bryce, Evan, Morgan, Gillian, Elena, Delilah, Robbie and brother Richard Andrews. Betty is predeceased by siblings George Andrews, Rita Simon and June Nejaime.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Funeral Services are to follow during Visitation at 12:00pm. Burial will conclude at St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY. The family respectfully requests that everyone attending the service please wear masks out of their primary concern for the safety and well-being of all those in attendance.
