Hi Folks.....
I just read of Gus's passing .....with sadness...from Palm Beach,Fl.......where to begin ? Oh, Gus and my Dad ...Joe C Mccabe....were just great friends...from back in the day....Double O Donut ....on Main and Market. My Grandpa Joe enjoyed...the Jelly donuts and a cup of Joe for lunch every day.....back in 60 ! They were so Fresh and this was before Dunkins...and Teddy V....Ha ! Folks.....I hope this helps....as we journey through life...you meet people.....that make a differeence in your life...for all kinds of reasons......Gus was one of those people ! I miss gina diamondopolis....my 2nd grade girlfriend....Yazoo ! Be well everyone.....warmly....Jefferdino Amodeo McCabe and Rosa Maria Amodeo McCabe.....PB and Linguaglossa Sicilia. May the road rise up to meet you Gus on your way to Heaven....and May God hold you in his loving arms.......

Scott and I are so sorry to hear of Gus' passing. He helped to make our wedding in 1982 so wonderful with his kindness. Always accommodated our motorcycle meetings and then our old car club, Thunder Road Cruisers, meetings. He always had a smile for us and come over and said hi when we came in to eat. Gus it will be different and sad not to see you sitting at the counter reading the paper. Love to you.

I worked at the Town and Country Diner with my Aunt Mary Michels when Gus and Teddy bought the diner from the man we lovingly called "Shorty" who owned it for years before and expanded it from the boxcar diner in the front to add on the Lighthouse Room. It was an interesting transition and we enjoyed a lot of the new menu items brought in - yummy, yummy desserts. Rest easy, Gus. You worked so hard.
