Obituary of Richard S Catanzaro

– POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK- Richard S, Catanzaro Jr. passed away suddenly at home on September 17, 2021. A lifelong Dutchess County resident, he was born on May 17, 1947 in Poughkeepsie to the late Richard S. Catanzaro Sr. and the late Esther G Martell. Richard worked at N&S Plumbing Supply for over 40 years as Vice President of Purchasing, retiring in 2014. Richard graduated from Poughkeepsie High School with high honors and excelled on the track team. Richard furthered his education at Cornell University as an English Major and was President of his fraternity. Richard loved his New York sports teams and was a loyal Yankee, Giant, and Ranger fan his entire life. He was an avid reader who enjoyed the classics and non fiction. Richard is survived by his sister Diane Williams (Catanzaro) and husband Frank of North Myrtle Beach, SC and his brother Thomas Catanzaro of Hopewell Junction, NY and his companion Linda Taffner. He is also survived by his nephews Jason Williams and his wife Tracy, Jeremy Williams and his wife Vanessa, Nicholas Catanzaro and his wife Theresa, nieces Jennifer Stapleton, Kelly Catanzaro Ash, and Jacquelyn Catanzaro, great nephews Braeden Williams, Holden Williams, Hunter Williams, Miles Williams, Dylan Ash, Reilly Ash and Leo Ash, and great nieces, Josephina Catanzaro and Giulia Catanzaro. Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 22, 2021 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Service will be held on September 23, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Peters Cemetery.
