Obituary of Penelope 'Penny' Broadie

Penelope “Penny “Broadie 81 of Poughkeepsie, New York died October 15, 2021, at The Pines of Poughkeepsie. 

Penny was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on May 31, 1940, she is the daughter of Harold and Marian Davison.

Penny was a lifelong local resident. Penny was a member of the Faith Assembly Church in Poughkeepsie and the New Life Church in Fort Myers Florida.

Penny was predeceased by her first husband John Patrick Ludwig m. 1959-1999, her son Derrik Ludwig 1977, brothers Robert, William, and Harold Davison.

On November 8, 2007, Penny married Ronald E. Broadie in Niagara Falls, New York, he survives at home.

Penny retired from Arlington School District in 2015, before moving to Florida. 

Penny enjoyed her monthly Class Reunion Dinner Club, she loved to garden, loved spending time with her family, enjoyed her many years working at the Town Shoppe, and loved her Sunday Football and Buffalo Bills.

Penny is survived by her children Darleene Neilson and partner Wayne, Dora Secreto and her husband Philip, Diane Silkworth whom is predeceased by her husband Brian Silkworth. Stepchildren Kristine Eckes, Michael Broadie, predeceased Keith Broadie. Grandchildren Amber (Jeff), Brittney (Fernando), Melaine, Amanda (Jason), Derrick (Lindsey), Patrick (Krista.) Great Grandchildren Paxton, Brandon, Mariah, Lorelei, Dominick, Dominic, MacKenzie, Maddison, Hailey, Meadow, and Anthony.

Calling hours will be held Saturday October 23, 2021, from 11am to 1:30pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York. Funeral Services will follow the Calling Hours at 1:30pm. Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
