Obituary of Michael Shawn Painter

Michael Shawn Painter passed away peacefully in his beloved home surrounded by his family. Mike was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1958 to John and Trudy Painter.

Mike graduated Arlington High School in 1977. He started his own business Michael Painter Enterprises doing tree work, roofing and siding.

On April 18, 1998 he married Sue D’Angelo in the Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church in Lagrangeville, New York. They began their life in their home he built and raised their three children.  Mike and Sue enjoyed many outdoor getaways, bonfire gatherings and loved being with all of their beloved friends. He cherished his time with his children, family, friends and pets.

Mike is remembered by his wife Sue Painter, his son Shawn Michael Francis Painter, two daughters, Dr. Kyla Marie D’Angelo-Lopez and her husband Will. Danielle Paige D’Angelo and her fiancé Mike. Three beautiful grandchildren, Isabella, Sophia and baby girl Lopez.

He is also remembered by his father John Painter, sister Laurie DeCiutiis and her husband Dan, brother Steven Painter and many friends and relatives.

He has joined his mother and beloved brother Terry in heaven.

Mike will be missed by his golden retriever Jake and cat Mister.

Calling hours will be at the Timothy Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 10am to 1pm. There will be a Funeral Service following the calling hours at 1pm.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date.
