Obituary of Michael C. Hunter

Michael Hunter, 59, passed away on November 20, 2021. Born in Dearborn, Michigan on January
13, 1962 to James & Helen Hunter. He resided in Florida after serving in the Navy, where he met his
wife, Dawn, of 27 years. They moved to Dutchess County so that Mike could earn his degree from
the Culinary Institute of America. He went on to be the Executive Chef in different restaurants
throughout the Hudson Valley. In recent years, he found comfort in his belief in God, his loving
family, and his dog, Nemo.

He is survived by his son Bryan, his wife Dawn, and his brother John Hunter of Bradenton, Florida.
A church service will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 12 PM at the Poughkeepsie
United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery at 1 PM. Those
wishing to honor Michael can make a donation to the Hudson Valley Animal Rescue & Sanctuary.
