Obituary of Kathleen Marie Cotton

Kathleen Marie (Gavis) Cotton fondly known as Kathi was a loving mother, nana, sister and friend. She went home to be with the Lord on January 6, 2022 at age 70 at Vassar Brothers Hospital surrounded by her daughters.
Kathi was born to Donald J. Gavis and Janet A. Piester on November 13, 1951 in Kingston, NY. She was a lifelong Dutchess County resident and graduated from Ketcham High School.
Kathi is survived by her two daughters, Christine Plese and her husband Eric of LaGrange, NY and Joanne Caswell and her husband Chance of Poughkeepsie, NY, her three grandchildren Rachael, Jessica and John Plese, her four brothers, Joseph Gavis and his wife Suzanne of Fuquay Varina, NC, Daniel Gavis and his wife Ann of Scituate, MA, Robert Panella and his wife Debbie of Holly Springs, NC, David Panella and his wife Robin of Costa Mesa, CA, her sister Nina Panella of Fort Myers, FL, her niece and her nephews, Jenny Ward and her husband Chris, Hunter Gavis and his wife Anna and Matt Gavis and her adored cousins.
Her friends were like family and we would like to thank the many people in her life, especially her church, Changepoint in Poughkeepsie. Thank you for the fellowship, meals, rides and most of all, love through the years.
Kathi enjoyed gardening, food, volunteering, baking, music and her church. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Family will greet friends from 930am til 10am at the Change Point Church Mill Street Poughkeepsie, New York on Saturday January 15, 2022 Funeral services will start at 10am. Please use the Market Street City Parking Lot. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie, Rural Cemetery.
