I was shocked to have learned of John's passing we worked together for many years @ the LHRIC. I retired in 2019 to follow my
musical career, but often kept in touch with John and we would talk about his nephew who was working for P-Diddy.
I moved to the west coast and received this a bit late, but I want to send my condolences to all of John's family & friends

My wife and I share our deepest condolences with the entire Hall family for John's passing. I was one of John's roommates at VMI for our last three years there, and will always remember traveling to John's parents' home in Wappinger's Falls where we stayed before attending the VMI vs. West Point football game. He and his family were so gracious to host us, and we enjoyed getting to see where John called home.
Rest in peace, John.

My wife and I send our deepest sympathies to John's family. It was a great pleasure to know John, and an honor to have him as a friend. I knew him from our freshman year at VMI -- I particularly remember being in "Rat" boxing class together where he got the better of me more than once! -- and all through graduation and beyond. We were in the Air Force at the same time after graduation, at nearby bases in southern California, and for a couple of years afterwards. Always a generous guy, he even let me drive his black TransAm convertible down to Santa Monica beach one time, and I let him drive my old Toyota...He was first class.

Dear Sandrina and Emma
I was shocked and saddened by this loss. I am praying for you all - may God give you the strength and grace that you need to cope with this loss. John was a gentleman's gentleman and a highly respected friend and colleague. I will miss him dearly. He and I worked together on many projects and he was always a source of knowledge. To John’s family: I pray that God shows you his mercy and gives you the grace and blessings you need now and in the days to come to find your peace without John’s physical presence. I know that he will remain with you always and will make his presence known. He loved his family beyond words and he was over the moon proud of Emma. He frequently shared her academic successes and he beamed with pride at the mention of her name. We spoke about family often.
John- I am struggling with your loss. I was speaking to you only an hour before you slipped away. You were dedicated to your work and your customers right down to your last minutes. I find myself saying- I’ll ask John - only to realize I can’t anymore. You were a faithful friend and colleague. I have known you for 25 years starting when I was one of your customers. You always had my back and I relied on you to preview my communications for grammar and tone. You supported me when I was promoted and I considered you my living archive. The LHRIC will not be the same without you. Rest In Peace my friend and keep me in your prayers. I will keep you and your family in mine.

I will always remember John as the caring person he was to everyone. During my time was Executive Director at he LHRIC I recall tHat John was always there to be the supportive staff member that you could always rely upon. He will be missed. I extend my sincerest condolences over your loss. I know that words don’t take away the hurt but perhaps sharing a kind gesture will help get you through this Fl difficult time. John will always be remembered by me as he spent many times sharing his wisdom and knowledge which helped me to be a success. He was the best person to have with you whenever it was appropriate because he knew just what to say and how to present it to be supportive! God will bless him for all the good he has done in his life as he touched so many people with his kindness.

I was so saddened to learn the news about John. John and I worked together for many years when I was at Brewster. I could always count on John to give me an honest answer to my many questions and issues. He always showed true character and professionalism in his interactions with others. John was a great asset to the RIC and will be greatly missed. In addition to being a great resource, I considered John a friend as well. I will miss him. Rest in peace my friend.

I remember my first day on the job, October 1994, I was introduced to John at our Marymount facility. Ever since then we became good friends and colleagues.
John was truly a great person, organized, professional and always taking care of our customers. We worked on many projects together and we were part of the same Project Management group.
I will miss our conversations and the occasional laughs.
Rest in peace my friend… I will miss you!!

To a co-worker like no other. Always wanted to know how I was doing during my office visits whenever he had eForms issues. Since then I’ve moved on with my Boces duties I saw him occasionally and had quick conversations. I have a tough time with grief and I really wanted to pay my respects to someone who deserve my respect. I never really to like to say goodbye but see you later! God bless to you and your family. May you Rest In Peace….

John was to me not only a great co-worker while we worked together for 24+ years and shared an office for 10, but i knew him as a friend, confidant and a man of great integrity whom I could count on for wisdom and advice. Together we managed to make even the tense and rigorous work days we endured bearable with our common parity of humor of any given situation. He was a trusted and level headed source and sounding board for many employees whom he put at ease with his easy going demeanor and genuine care for people. My heart is broken to hear that I will not be able to text or speak to him any longer and receive his witty but reassuring responses and blessings. I pray for comfort for the family as they grieve during this time. "The good die young" is certainly appropriate in John's case. I pray that as the good Lord receives him and says "well done my good and faithful servant" we are comforted by knowing he is now in great hands and no longer suffering or in pain from this material vessel we temporarily occupy. I know that i am a better person because I was blessed to know him and call him my friend and Band of Brother. Love you John.... you will remain forever in my memory until my passing as a good part of my life. Your brother... Ervin Virola.
