Linda was my stepmother. I remember warm smiles, fun times (especially at the ocean), and good conversations.
When Cyndi was born, she was the apple of Linda's eye. As if it were yesterday, I remember, at 12 yrs. old receiving the excited phone call from our father; 'you have a new baby sister!' Linda was over the moon.
Her adoration expanded when her grandsons were born- Alex in 2001, then Lucas in 2005. She was tickled and her face would light up whenever she saw them; big hugs would follow and smiles all around.
Linda and Stan's friendship, later marriage, was a romance that endured. They went everywhere together, went on long drives they both enjoyed. It was a blessing that they shared religious beliefs and values. It was a blessing that she and Stan were very happy together. At times, heads together, they'd giggle with one another, no one knowing their special secrets.
Linda will be sorely missed by all who loved her. May there be blessings upon her soul and the anticipation and now realized hope of being with Jesus always.
While we grieve, we also remember her escaping the horrendous illness of dementia. It is challenging to hold grief and relief that her suffering is now over at the same time. Being human invites us to experience this ....
