Hi Folks...... I was surfing the Net...from Kauai,hi......my wife's Ancesteral Homeland.....and read the sad news...again.....Where ought one begin....How about Saturday afternoons in high school.....playing varsity football at PHS....and Moira cheering us on...with Dad and John in the stands ! Great memories...but was always embarassed....when Moira chose my name for a cheer...for pete's sake...i was on the BENCH !! will always remember hot summer nights at FRIENDLYS...with john, his DAD...and my DAD.....john,s favorite was a Vanilla Fribble ! Finally, when my Grandparents Mccabe brokeup their house on 57 College Ave..so the new Middle School could be built....remember my grand mother..giving me the family Bible...and in the Bible were notations fron my Great grand mas funeral and wake....with note..all the Kearney-Corliss's attended services.....Oh folks ...we go waaay back.....Finally, John always enjoyed my PK stories...like the one about the Celtic Cross...out at St Pete's...built by our Greatgrand parents..to honor WW1 vets...like my Grandpa Joe...a wounded POW !! Oh, I hope this helps....bury my HEART...at St Pete's......until we meet again...john.....May God Keep You.....aloha....jeff....bing blogger

My deepest sympathies. With my living in Florida, a friend sent me John's obituary. Every interaction with John put a smile on my face. I'm happy to have learned of his passions he developed. I met John when i was in their Poughkeepsie home caring for their father. My sympathies for the loss of Frank and Moira also. Prayers for all, Dawn Woleslagle

I remember John when we were both kids on Gray Street. My grandparents lived next door. My gosh, what a resilient, fun-loving kid he was no matter what he was up against (which was a lot more than the rest of us). I can still see that same joyous nature in the photo that accompanies this obituary. I heard he was a stalwart caretaker for his Dad, who I also had huge respect for when I knew him back in those years in the 1950s, Please accept my sincere condolences.
