Obituary of Jonathan Hernandez Rojas

Jonathan Ivan Hernandez Rojas, age 24 of Poughkeepsie, New York passed away on June 11th, 2022 in his home. He was affectionately known as Jonny. Born in Cuernavaca Morelos, Mexico on May 25th, 1998 he was the son of Juan Hernandez Hernandez and Araceli Rojas. He moved to Poughkeepsie as a young boy and later graduated Poughkeepsie High School in 2018. He was a lineman for Squan out of Fishkill, New York for several years and would travel throughout New York State installing communication systems. Outside of work, Jonny was known for being a video game enthusiast and was affiliated with Twitch. He would spend many hours online streaming and gained friends around the country. He also took pride in his 2012 Subaru WRX-Sti. Jonny would often refer to his car as his “baby” and participated in photo shoots with his vehicle. Jonny was known for being a kind hearted and happy person with a contagious laugh. He could make friends with anyone and would always greet family and friends with a big hug. His laughter could light up any room and put a smile on your face. Jonny is survived by his parents Juan and Araceli of Poughkeepsie,NY, His brothers Isai Hernandez Rojas (Kayla Hernandez) of Highland and Cristhian Hernandez Rojas (Betsy Quezada-Hernandez) of Pleasant Valley and his two nieces Cecilia and Lucetta Hernandez. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8pm Friday June 17th at Timothy P Doyle Funeral Home, Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will be at 10:00AM Saturday June 18th at St. Mary’s-St. Joseph and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Poughkeepsie.
